YOUTH LIVELIHOOD

The youth livelihood program is a government of Uganda program targeting the unemployed and the poor youth in the country. This is a Funding which is refunded back after one year of disbursement.
Nwoya also is implementing this program which comes from Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
In the financial year 2023/2024, a total of 221M (Two Hundred, twenty one million shilling) was disbursed to a total of 35 youth groups across the district. of the 221M 14,800,000 have been recovered back
It is a practice that 30% of the group members should be female youth and the group always consist of 15 members.
The youth groups selected among others the following enterprises
1. Piggery
2. Farming
3. Produce buying
4. Events service
5. Animal Traction
6. Goat Rearing
7. Maize Miller
8. Tailoring services
In the financial year 2024/2025 am amount totaling to 72M has been received and yet to be disbursed to 12 youth groups.
